House Siding – What Are Your Options & Which Is Best for Your Home?

When choosing what material to use for the siding of your house, it is important to consider a few things: water resistance, installation, energy efficiency, versatility, aesthetics, and durability.

Stucco is a cement type material that can be textured and made into any shaped desired. It has been used for many years as it is not as pricey as other materials.

Vinyl. It is the most popular siding material in the U.S. due to the low price and low maintenance. It has over 300 colors available to choose from.

Metal. The great thing about metal sidings is that they can be transformed into various shapes. Aside from its beauty, metal lasts a long time. Metal can also be painted any color, but it will need a retouch after a while.

Stone. Limestone, granite, and slate are usually the stones used for sidings. These are ecofriendly and last for a long time. While the price for stone is higher than most materials and the installation is much more difficult, the investment is much more profitable in the future.

Brick. It comes in different sizes, shapes, and colors that will dress up the exterior of a house. It is durable and requires little to no maintenance. Since water can penetrate through the brick veneers, it is important to install a water membrane to protect the siding and even the inside of the house. Brick is the most expensive material to use and install but it is worth not having to maintain it.
